When I started this Empires Podcast the Ottomans it felt like the ancient city was soooo far away. Now that we're in the weeds so to speak it feels like home. Fun fact, I actually reached to Dr. Finkel (How freaking cool is it to have a PhD in Ottoman studies? I'd NEVER let my co-workers forget that fact!) back in.. must have been 2019.
